Curriculum Mapping with Networking Basics

Curriculum Mapping.docx

The purpose of this document is to demonstrate where the Cisco Networking Academy Networking Basics course aligns with OCR's GCSE Computer Science curriculum. This is intended to guide prospective and exiting Academies and illustrate how you could use Cisco Networking Academy content and resources to enhance the delivery of OCR's GCSE curriculum.

How to create and manage your classes

Please see the "Become an Academy" page on this site to understand the process to become an Academy. Once your Academy is set up, here are some helpful videos created by the Open University to guide you in getting your Networking Basics class set up. Please note your ASC will also support you in getting your Academy off the ground.

Explore Skills for All

Discover the courses and resources that are already available on Skills for All - the new platform that will become NetAcad. As NetAcad will become Skills for All.

There are already a wealth of academic, education and certification courses available. We encourage you to explore all of these at the soonest opportunity.

Creating a Self Paced Course

There are two types of course models on Skills for All. Self Paced and Instructor Led. This short video explains the simplicity of the self-pace resource.

Creating an Instructor Led Course

The second type is instructor led, you can deliver this in any modality you wish. This video, explores the additional features and functionality and modality associated with this course template.

You can use self-paced for both inclass and remote teaching, as is the same for instructor-led. The naming does NOT imply the type of delivery you must agree to, instead the suggested learning model and functionality available.
